To: Alaska Chinese Association
Dear Alaska Chinese Association Board Members,
Thank you for being such a vibrant and involved organization in the Anchorage community.
Ever since the age of four, when I was admitted into the Chinese school as a student, I have been taught many cultural skills and morals that I have learned to appreciate over the years. Being part of the Chinese community has taught me many things about being Chinese, other than just knowing that I am. I have learned to respect and honor others and I have learned many of the interesting skills and events that I otherwise may not have been exposed to without the Association and its presence in the community.
I recently received a $500 Scholarship Award from the Asian Alaskan Cultural Center representing the Chinese Community. I would like to thank you for my nomination for this scholarship and the opportunity to represent the Chinese community in Anchorage. I am happy to say that I received this through hard work and good character, largely due to my family and being involved in the Chinese community. I will be using the scholarship award towards the tuition of the college I will attending in the fall.
Although I have not decided which university I will be attending for college, I plan to become either a Pre-Medical or Biology major. After college, I plan to go to medical school and become a doctor.
Thank you again for being such an important and large part of my life. What I have learned over the years at Chinese School and at the Associations events I will not forget nor regret.
Sincerely,
Nancy
