Ah! I just read the comment Hen left for me… my green duck! Lana told me about him the other night… Friday? But I totally forgot until today. I must make a trip to see him and maybe have a convo… if I’m brave enough. Hahaha, I never was. Oh, I’m definately ordering a drink from that guitar-playing, glasses-wearing, facial-hairing duck. Wow, I haven’t seen him in forever.

new stuff.
Weee!!! Last night was better than I had prepared for.
Night of the Living Dead (1968). I got it for $1 and I’m watching it tonight. Ha! Scary movie here I come!
Oh, and I also got two dvds of the original original original Superman cartoons (13 episodes total), also $1 each. I’m so excited. I might watch them tonight too.
And I got the Three Stooges. Can you guess how much? Yeah, that’s right… $1, baby.
Newly discovered band: World Leader Pretend. I really like their instrumentals, especially the piano. They’re pretty mellow. New album, “Punches,” released today. They remind me of a better Travis. They’re ok. I wouldn’t really bother buying the album. But you should check them out anyways: World Leader Pretend website.
Also new. An obsession. With what, you say. Ah, this is the interesting part. Not until a few weeks ago have I actually appreciated the great talents of Brand New. And this morning I woke up with “Jude Law and a Semester Abroad” stuck in my head. Then that, AND “Failure by Design” stuck in my head. At the same time. Then for the rest of today I couldn’t stop listening to “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” over and over and over again. But you can’t blame me… I mean, listen to the last 1/4 of the song; the part where the harmonizing starts about 2:58 into it… ACK! it’s just beautiful. Everytime I hear it, I get tingly all over.
I feel like I got new ears.
Tingly. Like almost orgasmic.

vinl movie
Eh. ‘Twas a good night tonight (sort of). So after the movie (“Election ‘04: Tony vs Lisa”) at UAA, Olo and I decide to go to vinl and chill. (And Derek met us there. Yay!) Kalyn calls and decides to meet us up for some food. 15 mins go by and we’re wondering where she is… when she walks through the door, a bit pissed. Turns out some bastard ran a red light and totaled her minivan. Then he runs out of his car (which we conclude, probably isn’t his and most likely stolen) and runs off on foot with the police after him. Olo and I run out to Kalyn’s car and yep, the car’s nearly dead, making angry noises. The whole front of her bumper is torn off and on the grass on the side of the road and pieces of it are all over the intersection where the accident happened. The engine of the car is leaking green stuff (I don’t know what it was; I’m so dumb) and it’s making this noise and sounding like it’s going to explode any second. Woo. Kalyn’s freakin’ angry (and I would be too) and good thing, there are some witnesses around to help her out. Scariness. By the time I have to go, she’s talking to the police. I’m just glad that she’s ok (nothing hurt, I hope) and that she’s alive enough to swear. Yay for Kalyn.
The stolen car was pretty nice too. A small, black convertable or something. Good thing that guy was caught. Whew. Pretty exciting stuff.
Oh, and the movie was just as funny as it was the first time I saw it, if not funnier. Har har har.
