I finally downloaded a program that does multi-protocol IMing and I’m not sure about it. I mean, yeah, I like the convenience, but (being superficial) I happen to like the look and feel of the original programs, such as: MSN, AIM, and GoogleTalk. I downloaded Miranda IM and it seems pretty good, although the plugins I’ve also downloaded so far have been kind of iffy. “Iffy” as in “I can’t figure out how to install them.” Yeah, pretty lame. I should be studying for my math midterm right now.

Santa Barbara: the land of sun and beach!
Huh, not this past weekend.
I was in Santa Barbara this past weekend for an ultimate frisbee tournament, and it was COLD. Drove down Friday and when we woke up Saturday morning (oh jeez, like 6am), it was rainy, cold and miserable. Even more miserable was that we had to play three games in that weather. It also got windy as the day progressed, so by the time we were done playing for the day, we were soaked to the bone and shivering from the cold. Cool thing was, I scored the first point of the tournament for us! Pretty sweet. After our third game, we were so muddy and wet that we all just pretty much ran into the shower still fully clothed and stripped down under the warm water. Mmmm… that was good times. We won all three games and made it to quarter finals.
Then Sunday was supposed to be better; it was, but only slightly. It was a bit warmer, and the sun peaked out a few times, but for the most part it stayed cloudy and windy. We played only 2 games that day (but we really didn’t want to play more). It also started raining near the end of our second game. We lost to Santa Barbara’s A team (which, we noticed, only played their crusties and very few of their rookies… cheaters); they pretty much slaughtered us. We were just happy to have made it so far and be able to shower and start back home (because by then it was 3 in the afternoon and we had a 7-hour drive to do). I made a point during the Santa Barbara game and had a successful layout. Pretty sweet.
But because I played in the wind and rain this weekend I am now sick with a cold.

Grey’s Anatomy always makes me feel all lovey-dovey afterwards; it’s a terrible feeling.
What makes it worse is that they make Derek Shepherd the most perfect man EVER. Today’s episode anyway.

1) Valentine’s Day – Stores just don’t seem to display enough of the lovey-dovey goodness. Oh my. Singles’ Awareness Nigh at The Grad February 13th… that’s where I’m heading.
2) “I miss you gorgeous!” (yes, even no comma) – Ugh. Disgusting. All those girls I hated in high school that would comment just like that… are invading my brother’s social circle. Wait, they’re actually IN his social circle. I’m about to barf.
3) Frisbee – Running is killing my ankle. The bad one. The left one. It gets worse and worse every practice as the endurance running continues. I would LOVE to do the drills — except that my ankle likes to communicate to me through pain that it isn’t happy to do it. I need to get an ankle brace.
4) Midterms – Organic chemistry tomorrow, Santa Barbara tomorrow through Sunday night, then two midterms on Monday: Zoology and Human Sexuality. When will I have time to study?! I’ll be playing frisbee the whole weekend! I guess I could study on the bus (it IS a 6-hr drive) but reading in the car makes me sick.
5) Candy – My roommates finished off the gummy bears that I brought home. I just bought a box of Pirates of the Caribbean fruit snacks from Nugget for $1.50!!! I think I’ve had half the box since the purchase. Mmm… candy.
6) Dance – I feel like I’m in high school again (dunno if it’s a good thing or not)! Friend Chris asked me to go to the Unitrans Ball and it’s supposedly really fancy; there’s a menu he needs to show me so we can order what we want for dinner! Also, I need to find something to wear; all I have are my heels and nothing close to a fancy dress.
7) Parties -
Feb 2 : house, Groundhog Day Party
Feb 3 : Cholly’s?
Feb 9 : EC potluck/get crazy night
Feb 10 : Unitrans Ball
Feb 13 : Singles’ Awareness Night @ The Grad
Feb 14 : VD. Viral Diseases Day. “Let’s all get STDs!”

My original plan was to get a new phone (a tri-band for international SIM cards) for my NZ trip this summer, meaning I would have the excuse of getting a new cell account finally under MY NAME and a new phone to boot! But as it turns out, my phone (and I’ve had it for 1.5 years now but I get sick of things easily; plus, it doesn’t take good pics… I know, I know, that factor shouldn’t even be in the equation) is already a tri-band and is capable of making calls with NZ’s SIM cards, that is if my phone came “unlocked” and I can insert another SIM in it.
DILEMMA.
Doesn’t mean I’ll stop thinking about maaaaaybe getting a new account/phone in the next 6 months before my trip. I’m just waiting for T-mobile to scoot more cool phones on the “free” list before I sign on to a 2-yr contract (ew).
