It’s the Thursday before Finals Week. Oh boy, oh boy.

I’ve been up since 6am because I had to do some last minute studying for my Immunology class; we had our third midterm today (instead of a final for next week) that, thank God, wasn’t cumulative. I did pretty well considering I was caring less and less as today approached.

Grades:
Midterm 1 – 89% (40% of grade)
Midterm 2 – 72% (40% of grade)
Midterm 3 – 86% (20% of grade)

This means I have at least a ‘B-’, but I’m really hoping for a ‘B’ since I improved. I’m really hating myself now for slacking off for the second midterm because I know I could have done well if I had tried… then maybe I would have a ‘B+’ or something. Now I’m just happy I don’t have another ‘C’ in a class I could have done well in and that I have one class down and two more to go!

first full week back

Wow. What a week. I worked 26 hours (10 of those on Tuesday alone) along with classes, frisbee practice and helping out with the EC (I got to see Jimmy Eat World for free! More on that later.); I am totally exhausted.

I finally got into that writing class that I was waitlist #1 for on Monday; the wait was quite nerve-wracking. The limitis 25 per writing class and they made no exceptions, so of course I was worried. I wanted to kill someone just to get in that class. Why? Because it’s Writing in the Health Sciences. I need this for the MCATs and my medical profession. Plus, I didn’t have an alternative class I wanted to take. So yes, that is stress-no-more but then work got serious.

Twenty-six hours this week! As a student and working for the univ I’m not allowed more than 20 a week AND, of course, no more than 8 per day.

trying to shed this messy skin

Wow. I haven’t posted in a while.

I got a new phone, for one. New phone number too. Explanation: I was sick of not really being able to receive calls during hurricane season (Aug-Nov), so I switched in to a better coverage area in CA. The new phone was just to make myself feel better; I was getting sick of my old one (which I’ve had for about 1.5 years) and it was also falling apart, therefore New Phone Time! I now also have a new phone plan… letting me talk to people I talk to most (which is not even 5, how sad) for unlimited minutes with unlimited nights and weekends. Truly convenient.

Tomorrow is DUI and I’m excited. I’ll be even more excited tomorrow when I start playing and my shins won’t hurt. We’ll see. For now I’m just getting by and hoping my shins and ankle won’t act up. Wonderful news: I get to be up at 6:45am Sunday morning (yes!) to help set up fields for the day’s games. I’m also looking forward to this because it’s here in town so we don’t have to drive around and around in some other city that’s not home.

Yes! I am done for the quarter! Although it doesn’t feel like the end of the quarter, perhaps because classes start up again next Wednesday. Boo that.

So yesterday wasn’t too bad of a day. I had my hum sex final at 1:30pm and finished 40 mins in. Then I went to the bookstore to look at some SkullCandy earphones (didn’t get them, though) and ended up buying two books: 1) a book on death, dying, and decay; 2) a book about sex. I’m also pretty sure that the cashier boy thought I was flirting with him while he was ringing these up for me. I SWEAR I WASN’T but I HAD to comment on his scrap-paper-made name tag that was stuck on his jacket with scotch tape. It’s totally something I had to do. So yeah, whatever… he thought I was flirting with him; maybe I made his day more interesting.

I get home and I don’t know what to do with myself. I read a few pages of the sex book with my roommate and then put my new blinds up. I also had a Super Burrito from Guad’s (oh yum) and only ate half (I saved the other half for lunch today) and fell asleep on the couch.

Basically, yesterday was a very relaxing day after my last final. I went to bed all funky-feeling though; wasn’t good. Hm.

it’s gone 6 months dormant before

I realized today that my new job is the first job that I’ve really enjoyed; I’m pretty sure it’s not just the excitement of having a job. I found myself thinking “Man, I wish I had work today.” This is a first, considering I’ve had 6 jobs before this one. The other times it would be the first week or so and yes, I’d be excited about having a job but I wouldn’t be happy about having to go to work. I would always be thinking, “I guess I’ll go to work because it’s a job and it pays money that I need.” But this current job gets me so excited! I look forward to getting to the lab and working on our research! It’s insane! I’m happy I’ve found something I like doing AND getting paid to do it.

…We’ll see how I feel in about a month or so. Hahaha.
